Ryoko Toyama 外山良子
Through my paintings I express my feelings about the world. Inspirations come from a variety of sources, from a concept to visible objects. My creative process begins with the end in mind. However, my work often takes its own course, producing the unexpected in a magical transition. I work with water-based media because of their fluidity.
In 1962 I moved from Japan to the U.S. After studying library science and linguistics, I worked for various research libraries across the country. Throughout my librarian career, I have learned to appreciate our human heritage, not bound by time or place. My husband and I moved to Sequim, WA in 2004.
My paintings are represented by the Blue Whole Gallery. 129 W. Washington St., Sequim, WA 98382. (360) 681-6033. www.bluewholegallery.com
